8 tips to create the perfect nursery

Decorating the nursery is one of the most fun parts of being pregnant. You get to create the world your baby will grow up in. These are our 8 tips on how to create the perfect nursery!

1 Choose a colour palette

You don’t want the nursery to be an explosion of different colours that don’t match, so make sure you start with choosing a few main colours that you’re going to be working with.

2 Choose a main theme

Of course you don’t have to choose a theme, but it’s easier to decorate the nursery if you have a central theme to build on.

3 Decorate the ceiling

Baby’s spend a lot of time lying on their back. That’s why it’s a good idea to have a mural painted on the ceiling (or to paint it yourself!), so they always have something to look at.

4 Lighting is important

Baby’s love soft lighting. When you are shopping for the lighting, make sure that you check the hardness of the light. This is most important for the ceiling lights and other lighting that may be placed directly overhead the crib.

5 Buy a nightlight!

Baby’s get a sence of security and peace when there’s a nightlight in the room. It’s also more comfortable for the mother if there is some soft lighting in the room for the night time feedings.

6 Don’t forget storage!

A baby takes up a lot of space, even without all the clothes and toys. Having space to store all the things you’ll need leaves space in the room to play and nurse.

7 Think about the future

Decorate with items that your baby will need and can learn from in the future, such as rattles, a music box, or a money box.

8 Leave room for pictures

When your child is born you can fill the room with pictures of all the beautiful moments you’ve had together!
